Susan published a humorous graphic memoir with Conundrum Press in October 2021. The book has received a Starred Review in the American Library Association publication, Booklist, meaning “Outstanding in its Genre”.
Dying for Attention is a book defined by a self-effacing humour and a rueful look at all she experienced while shepherding her mother through nine years of long term care.

In addition to a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Nonfiction from University of King’s College, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Susan holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from NSCAD University and spent her career in Health-care Communications.
Susan is also the creator behind the IG account Humans of Saint Vincent’s.
Before COVID, she regularly drew the residents of Saint Vincent’s Nursing Home in her hometown of Halifax, Nova Scotia, capturing them as simply the people they are without the overlay of ageism so common in today’s culture.
